Poker

( My apoligize for the grammar mistakes, im not english :p )

Hello guys !
My name is Tom, Im from Holland, and I just become 18 years old
J
As you probably know, 18 is the age you can start playing poker.
But i have to admit, that im already playing poker since I was 16.

I made this blog because i read the call to do so.( http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/articles/Poker-Blog-Championship-2014 )
And i thought it would be good for me to write it all out :)

How it all started

For my 16th birhtday, my parents gave me a laptop ( lucky me ^^ ).
Usually, i only played leauge of legends (a free online game) , but after a few weeks, i was sick and tired of it, so I was looking for another thing to do in my spare time.
I always liked poker, so I thought; lets see if I can play online poker for free somewhere.
I started googling a bit, and it was clear for me that pokerstars was the place to be.
The first few weeks, I non-stop played the hubble’s freeroll (guess you know that tournament) and the open skill-league freerolls, but this didnt really worked out for me.
I never won anything, so it became clear to me that I needed some tips and tricks: I went to pokershoolonline.com.
In a few weeks completed all the courses succesfully, and I learned more and more about poker.
After these courses I went to everythingpoker.com.
I watched all the episodes, and I really enjoyed this. So i wasnt only “studying” , I just liked it to.
Furthermore, I watched plenty of videos on youtube, to see how the “pro’s” make their decisions and I watched some big tournaments. (like the EPT’s from the last years)

My first deposits

After studying for many hours/days , I felt like I was ready for my first deposit.
All of this went secretly, because I just knew my parents wouldnt allow me to go gambling. (and yes, I can understand that :p )
I bought a paysafecard in a local shop and  then it all started.

Addicted ?

Yes, I think I was addicted ( maybe I still am, but I can contol myself now :p) .
After my first deposit, I discovered that it wasnt so easy as it looked liked and I kept losing my money.
I didnt even lost everything, because I played bad, I just had no limits.
For example:
Im come back from school and I buy a 20$ paysafecard , what I should do is play 25 cent sng’s and slowly build up my bankroll, but what I did everytime was playing 10$ hyper sng’s or something.
I made a lot of deposits back then ending up with a empty bank account.
Im not talking about thousands of dollars, but I think I reached the $1000 .
And remember, I was 16, so this was like a fortune to me.
Because I lost so much money, I wanted to quit poker.
The problem was, that I decided to stop playing many times, but everytime, after a couple of days, i changed my mind and made another deposit.
I felt really bad that time, and I didnt knew what to do.
I just couldnt quit poker, and play games as fifa like my friends, because poker was just the only thing I could think about.

Getting back up

So, there I am, wasted all my money to poker, without making any profit.
After all this stupid deposits and stupid choices, I finally can control myself now.
No more reckless deposits for me !
I am however, going to make a 20$ deposit, and then i will only play 25 cent sng’s (45 or 90 players) .
I know I am able to build up my bankroll, because I know im good enough.
I just played so many hands past 2 years. I dont think there has been a day I didnt play poker
J
Maybe building up my bankroll will go very slow, but one of the things I learned the past 2 years, is
having patience.

My dream is to become a proffesional poker player, and I wont stop learning and playing, untill I reached that goal.

BUT, I have to stay focussed, and not lose myself again, but I know I can do it !

Thank you for reading this blog.
I hope you understand where I have been through the last 2 years, and if your interested I can continue making blogs, just let me know
J

Tom
